Magnet - Haku Yowane

It's almost Valentine's Day and I was feeling in a forbidden romance-y mood. As I looked through my oodles and oodles of CC, I noticed I have the butterfly headphones from Magnet. Then I saw that I had this dress. And thus, Haku's version of Magnet was created.

Prima

So sorry for the delay everyone!
Prima was Zero-G's first Vocaloid 2 product released January 14, 2008. Prima. The name "Prima" comes from the term "Prima Donna" meaning "first lady" is an Italian term used to describe the female with the leading role in a theatrical and opera production and the one with the most talent, who was usually a soprano singer.
According to Zero-G, they looked at what was missing and decided that there was a gap for a classical soprano voice. This voice type was decided during Miriam's release, along with a choir type of voice. Prima's voice provider was a singer who answered an ad put up on a music academy website. After some test samples in the Vocaloid software, they decided to go ahead and record her for the Vocaloid 2 software.

Luka Megurine

Megurine Luka (巡音ルカ) was the third Japanese Vocaloid2 from Crypton and released on January 30, 2009. Her surname combines Meguri (巡, circulate or around) and Ne (音, sound), while the name Luka invokes the homonymous Japanese words of "nagare" (流, flow) and "ka" (歌, song) or "ka" (香, scent); thus making "songs to all around the world as scent spreads." Yū Asakawa (浅川 悠) provided the voice for the "cool, somewhat mysterious" character.
Like its previous two characters, Crypton advertised Luka's vocal database as "Japanese". However, like with Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len, a second voicebank was shown shortly before her release that gave her capablities to sing in English. At the time of Luka's release, there was a growing interest in English speaking Vocaloids. Luka offered both languages for the price of one to Japanese Vocaloid users giving them the chance to test their skills at English capable Vocaloids.
Crypton Future Media chose her name to express its hope that she will transcend borders and cultural barriers. Luka was designed by the Japanese illustrator Kei, who had previously created the designs for Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin and Len.

Kamui Gakupo

Kamui Gakupo (神威がくぽ) (note: on the Karen-T website his name is always written as "Camui Gackpo") is the official mascot character of Gackpoid (がくっぽいど / Gakuppoido) which is a singing synthesizer application software powered by YAMAHA's Vocaloid2 and was published by INTERNET Co.,Ltd.
Internet Co. wanted to utilize the voice of a singer for the creation of Vocaloid but felt it would be difficult to get a singer to agree. They consulted Dwango Co.,Ltd. who managed Nico Nico Douga, and Dwango suggested Gackt (神威 楽斗 Camui Gackt), a singer and actor, as he had previously provided his voice for Dwango's cell phone services. He lent his voice and named the Vocaloid, Gackpoid.

Rin & Len Kagamine

Kagamine Rin & Len (鏡音リン ・レン) is the second product released on December 27, 2007, they are Vocaloid2 Character Vocal Series developed by Drypton Future Media Ltd, male voice (Len) and female voice (Rin). Their family name was from the developing code combining Kagami (鏡, mirror) and Ne (音, sound).
Crypton Future Media intended to project a Vocaloid with low-teen girl's voice at first following Miku Hatsune, but there was a demand for a boy's voice, so Crypton Future Media hired a voice actress who can produce both sounds. Kagamine Rin was the first voicebank developed and introduced to the Vocaloid consumer market. However, the package included two voicebanks: one for Rin and another for Len, both provided by the seiyu Asami Shimoda (下田 麻美 Shimoda Asami), Kagamine Len was unveiled later after Kagamine Rin. The package was priced at the same price as Hatsune Miku, even though there was two voicebanks in the box.
At the time of recording in 2007, their names had not yet been decided. Their given names of Rin and Len were said to be based on "right" and "left" according to Asami Shimoda. She later confirmed in an interview after the Append release, the name itself was based on the names of Ken and Rin from Hokuto no Ken the names were derived from a discussion about names that were familiar from her childhood. According to Asami Shimoda, Len's voice was achieved by singing within her chest, while Rin's at the top of her head.

KAITO

KAITO is a Japanese male Vocaloid created by Crypton Future Media. He utilizes the older Vocaloid engine developed by YAMAHA. He claims the spot of the last vocal to be released for the Vocaloid engine. The voice was supplied by a Japanese male singer Fuga Naoto (風雅 なおと). The illustration was done by Takashi Kawasaki. The product's name was invited from the public, and "KAITO" was selected from among applicants, which was the idea of Shu-tP.
Kaito was created as a counterpart of Meiko and developed together. One of the reasons why his name "KAITO" was selected was that it would be easy for non-Japanese speakers to pronounce, and that it looked fitting to the name "MEIKO" when they were put next to one another. On 24th July, 2003, an CCCD album "HISTORY OF LOGIC SYSTEM", which included a song using Japanese vocaloids commercially for the first time, was released. It was a duet song of "Ano Subarashii Ai wo Mou Ichido (That Wonderful Love Once More)" and it was covered by prototype version of Meiko and Kaito before their release. Meiko was released 1 year after this and Kaito followed her 2 years later.

Miku Hatsune

Hatsune Miku (初音ミク) is the first Japanese Vocaloid2 in the Vocaloid2 Character Vocal Series created by Crypton Future Media. It is considered as the most popular and well known Vocaloid and the first to become a pop idol. The name of the title and the character of the software was chosen by combining Hatsu (初, first), Ne (音, sound), and Miku (未来, future) thus meaning "the first sound from the future." The data for the voice was created by sampling the voice of Saki Fujita (藤田 咲, Fujita Saki), a Japanese voice actress.
Before Miku was released, Vocaloid was not much more than an obscure program. Nico Nico Douga played a fundamental role in the recognition and popularity of the software today. Soon after its release, users of Nico Nico Douga started posting videos with songs created by the software. According to Crypton, a popular video with a comically-altered Miku holding a spring/Welsh onion, singing levan Polkka, presented multifarious possibilities of applying the software in multimedia content creation. As recognition and popularity grew, Nico Nico Douga became a place for collaborate content creation. Popular original songs written by a user would generate illustrations, animation in 2D and 3D, and remixes by other users. Other creators would show their unfinished work and ask for ideas.

MEIKO

MEIKO is a Vocaloid DTM software created by Crypton Future Media. She is the first Japanese vocaloid and first Japanese female Vocaloid, she utilizes the Vocaloid engine developed by YAMAHA. Her voice is provdied by the Japanese female singer Haigo Meiko (拝郷 メイコ). The illustration was done by Shogo Washizu, who is often called わっしー(Wasshi) and was once a member of Crypton.
She sold 3,000+ units in her first year according to DTM magazine, this was abnormal for a software synethiser at the time, this was far better then her counterpart Kaito had faired who had sold only 500 units. As of note, for a commerical product to be successful, a software synesither had to sell 1,000 units. Because of Meiko's success followed by the success of Hatsune Miku, Crypton focused on female vocals for their Vocaloid 2 era voicebanks, it was also common expectations that females would sell better then males.
However, after Hatsune Miku's success, Kaito went into rediscovery which put him on per with the sales of Vocaloid 2 era voicebanks. In 2008 while Kaito was 2nd place in the Nico Nico Douga best seller award, Meiko was struggling to keep popularity with the more modern female Vocaloids released. By 2009 up until 2011, while Kaito was almost constantly on the top 10 products page from Crypton Future Media, Meiko was barely selling at all.

Neru Akita

Neru Akita (亞北ネル Akita Neru) is an officially recognized derivative. Her name is a play on words, Akita (亞北) is taken from "飽きた" or "get bored" while Neru (ネル) from "寝る" or "go to bed".
In October of 2007, soon after Miku was released, a TV program in Japan degraded the users of Miku. As a result, Miku's pictures became unavailable to search in main search engines, and Miku's article was deleted from the Japanese Wikipedia at the same time.
This news became widespread or "flamed up" in 2ch, then many writings to lay the news to rest or "to put off the fire" followed. The postings were with the phrases "飽きた、寝る。 (Got bored. Going to bed.)" or "寝る、お前らも寝ろよ。 (Gonna go to bed. Follow me, y'all!). Soon other users made a personification character for these postings as "Akita Neru", which Smith Hioka, the designer, later finalized. Neru came to represent the tsundere culture of Vocaloid.

Haku Yowane

Haku Yowane (弱音ハク Yowane Haku) is an officially recognized derivative. Her name is taken from Yowane meaning negative sayings/thoughts and Haku roughly translated as utter. Her first name and last name make a play on words "yowane-(wo)-haku" (弱音(を)吐く), meaning to say negative thoughts or to show white feather. Her white hair is from ハク, which has the same pronunciation with 白 (white).
Haku was originally made as a representation of songs that use Hatsune Miku but ended up sounding awful. In such cases, the makers of that music would then proceed to whine about how their work never received attention and later moved on to whine when criticism stated their work as dull and boring, or was posted quite late when few people were on Nico Nico Douga. She became popular and her creator Caffein later established other characters following the same procedures, each representing a slightly different aspect of failure within the Vocaloids.

Jenna & Hannah Rom

I am very proud to present you with Jenna and Hannah Rom, the twin models of my "KawaiiBomb" lipgloss. The Rom sisters were born in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to America when their father was transferred. A woman from Vogue magazine saw them at the mall, and recruited them for modeling. At first, they were reluctant to the idea, as they thought they were going to be told that they need to lose weight, get taller, plastic surgery, etc. Vogue was excited at the idea of having twin models, and appointed them as lip models. Jenna and Hannah currently reside in Pleasantview.
